This site is funded by commission on one product. Here is the full arrangement, what it determines, and what determines everything else.

The arrangement in three sentences
Summary
AgileBase carries paid links to one product, TotalAV. If you follow such a link and take out a subscription with that vendor, MSMM-ZLK s.r.o. is paid a commission by the advertising network that administers the arrangement, out of the vendor's marketing budget. You pay the vendor's own price, unchanged, and you can reach the vendor without using the link at all.
How it works, in detail
MSMM-ZLK s.r.o., the publisher of this site, participates in an affiliate programme for TotalAV, administered by a third-party advertising network. The paid links on this site point to an address on that network's own domain, exactly as issued, with no redirect of the publisher's own in between; you can see the destination in your browser's status bar before you click, and each such link is marked in the page's own code as a sponsored link.
When a reader follows one of those links and completes a subscription on the vendor's site, the network attributes the subscription to AgileBase and credits the publisher with a commission. Payment flows from the vendor to the network and from the network to the publisher. It is a share of the vendor's marketing expenditure.
The commission is not a surcharge. It is not added to the subscription price, it does not reduce any discount the vendor is offering, and the price at the vendor's checkout is the same whether you arrive through this site, through a search engine, or by typing the vendor's address directly. Nothing on this site is required in order to buy anything.
What the money decides, and what it does not
Being specific here is more useful than a general assurance, so here is the division.

What determines coverage instead
Since the product coverage is decided commercially, the honest thing is to say what governs everything else.
- The glossary is ordered alphabetically, and a term is included if a reader comparing products is likely to meet it. No vendor's vocabulary is favoured, and terms that make paid products look unnecessary — built-in protection, free tiers, the limits of scanning — are included on the same basis as any other.
- The explanatory pages follow the sequence a reader needs: what a mechanism is, what it cannot do, what to check. Where the accurate answer is that a paid product adds little, the page says so.
- No payment is accepted to add a term, change a definition, remove a limitation, or place a mention inside explanatory text. There is no display advertising and no sponsored content on this site.
- No testing. AgileBase publishes no detection rates, scores, rankings or awards, for the advertiser or for anyone else, because it runs no tests. See the editorial method.
Where you will see this disclosed
Disclosure is only useful where the decision is made, so it appears in four places: in a box in the upper part of the homepage, above the first paid link; immediately beside every paid link on every page that carries one; on the products covered page as part of the description of that product; and here, in full. Paid links appear on three pages in total — the homepage, choosing security software, and products covered. Every other page is free of them.
What this means for you as a reader
- You are reading a site with a commercial interest in one product, and you now know which one.
- The price you would pay is the vendor's, unaffected by the link you arrive through.
- You are not obliged to use the links. The vendor's site is reachable directly, and the glossary and explanatory pages work the same either way.
- Any purchase is a contract with the vendor. Support, billing, cancellation and refunds are handled by the vendor, and the publisher has no access to your account with them. The contact page explains where those requests should go.
- Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply to your dealings with the seller. The ACCC sets out those guarantees.
